“Ok Blue, try an use water Pulse!” Fred ordered as his Froakie shot a ball of water at a Darumaka. The fire pokémon flew across the air and hit the rock wall; it fell to the ground unconscious.
“Great job Blue.” Tommy smiled to the pokémon. Fred, Tommy and their pokémon hiked up a red mountain battling a few pokémon every now and then.
“Ok so I’ll go over the plan again.” Fred informed Tommy. “Ok so from what we know the Weavile we’re looking for likes high places, and Mt. Terra Cota is the highest place here.”
“So we need to look around it.” Tommy recounted the plan.
“Exactly!” Fred congratulated. “This will also be a great chance to improve your battling skills.”
“What do you mean by improve my battle skills?” Tommy asked. All of a sudden as if on cue a rock-like pokémon jumped out. Freddy pulled out his pokédex and pointed it at the pokémon.
“Ok a Geodude, an easy opponent, it’s a pure ground type.” Fred informed as he read from the pokédex.
“Ok then, are you ready Mizu?” Tommy asked his pokémon.  The Totodile nodded in agreement and stepped forward. “Ok now what do I do?”
“I thought I already taught you how to battle.” Freddy commented. “Attack it with a water move.”
“I was like five when you taught me I can’t remember anything from back then.” Tommy retaliated. “Oh and…Mizu doesn’t know any water type moves.”
“Well what moves does she have?” Freddy asked as he pointed his pokédex towards her. “Scratch and leer.” He said disappointed.
“Ok we’ll just have to use scratch.” Tommy announced. Mizu raced up to the Geodude and started attacking it with a barrage of scratches, which did very little effect. The fight continued on to the point when even the Geodude was bored.
“Ok this has gone on far enough.” Fred stood up and Blue walked into the battlefield. “Ok Blue, Use Water Pulse!” Blue did as commanded and sent a ball of water at the Geodude, causing it to faint.
“Hey I had that.” Tommy wined.
“Maybe you’re first opponent should be something that can’t resist normal attacks so easily.” Freddy looked around for any wild pokémon, he spotted a red, monkey-like pokémon up ahead. “A Darumaka, that should be a good test, it’s a fire type.” Tommy looked over to the Darumaka.
“Ok then we will fight it.” Tommy announced proudly. Freddy walked across the mountain face and peered around a corner.
“Anyway, while you do that I’ll continue to search for that Weavile.” Fred walked around the corner leaving Tommy by himself with the Darumaka. Fred looked around an open area, which had a few trees, and bushes scattered around. Freddy began his search however did not find anything interesting until he moved a cranberry bush and saw a small crack in the wall just large enough to squeeze into. Freddy wriggled across the small tunnel and shortly found himself in a large underground cave, the cave was quite spacious and had large tunnels connecting it to other caves, and the cave even had a large lake at the far end. Freddy pulled out a flashlight from inside his backpack and turned it on to get a better view of the otherwise dark and gloomy cave, Fred decided to walked down one of the other tunnels. The other caves were quite small only about a tenth the size of the first one however they were extremely hot and this was the first thing Fred noticed, the rooms were fairly empty except for the final one which had a nest, rested against the furthest wall. Freddy examined the nest closer and noticed it was still warm, as if something was resting on it not too long ago, he looked around for any footprints and surely enough he found some however he could not identify them for they were smudged by large marks in the ground. Fred left the tunnels and looked at the underground lake that spread across to another patch of land, the water wasn’t that deep but was still deep enough to hide a Carvanha or Huntail, the water was however very clean. Fred hesitantly stepped into the water, which came up to his waist, and started walking to the other side, the water was cool and very refreshing after being in the hot caves, it was incredibly dark in the cave so it was impossible to see into the water which made Fred worry as the threat of a Carvanha was very much alive as this lake would be the perfect spot for a Dark-Water type pokémon.  Once Freddy reached the other side of the lake he sighed a breath of relief since he didn’t bump into any pokémon, he looked around the small piece of land, it didn’t have much besides an identical nest to the one he saw in the caves but this time the footprints surrounding it were much more recognizable. Freddy pulled out his pokédex and scanned the footprints, however to Freddy’s disappointment the footprints belonged to Lavitar. Fred walked back across the river and exited the cave, the fresh air was incredibly refreshing and Freddy had never been more grateful about anything in his life. Freddy walked back to meet up with Tommy however when he looked around the corner both Tommy and Blue were gone! Freddy run around looking for his friend and pokémon.
“I’m such an idiot! I shouldn’t have left him alone! TOMMY!” He yelled out as he looked for Tommy. Fred heard a sound coming from the other side of a bush and went to investigate, when he moved the bush over he saw Tommy, Blue and Mizu standing in the middle of a clearing scattered with fainted Darumaka, Geodude and even some Gligar.
“What happened?” Fred asked looking at the loads of fainted pokémon.
“I got bored waiting for you so I took Blue and Mizu out for some training.” Tommy answered.
“All these pokémon?” Freddy asked in disbelief.
“Yep!” Tommy answered proudly. “I got tons of levels on Mizu!”
“I can imagine.” Freddy commented. “Come on let’s go home.”
